EVERSILVER™ Creeping Germander (Teucrium)

EVERSILVER™ Creeping Germander (Teucrium)

Teucrium x ‘Harlequin’s Silver’ EVERSILVER™ (Creeping Germander) is a year-round standout with striking silvery foliage, perfect for creating a vibrant, controlled groundcover in waterwise gardens. In early summer, it bursts into a sea of beautiful purple flowers, often delighting with a second bloom in the fall.

Discovered by chance at Harlequin’s Gardens in Boulder, CO, this exceptional ever-silver spreading germander originated from a silver-leafed seedling among green Teucrium plants. Teucrium x ‘Harlequin’s Silver’ EVERSILVER™ joined the Plant Select® assortment in 2024.

Native to the Mediterranean Balearic Islands, Teucrium thrives in rocky, well-drained soils in full sun. At the end of the garden season, rake off any fall leaves or debris. In spring, trim any winter-burned shoots to promote healthy new growth. Once established, this xeric perennial requires minimal water and is deer resistant, making it an excellent low-maintenance option for waterwise gardens.
