Red Hedgehog Agave

Hedgehog Century plant is a fascinating Chihuahuan desert species that grows to form a round, symmetrical rosette of pencil-like succulent leaves. In the outdoor landscape, the leaves of this selection turn reddish-pink in color and are very stiff with no marginal teeth. This is a very sculptural plant for the waterwise desert garden. Use gloves when handling as the thorns can get quite sharp and the sap can sometimes irritate skin.
