Among the over 4,000 native bee species in North America, a significant portion inhabit the Western United States and Canada. This includes specialized pollinators such as the western bumblebee (Bombus occidentalis) and the alkali bee (Nomia melanderi), both of which play crucial roles in pollinating native flora and agricultural crops across the arid and semi-arid regions of the West.
